Sunday 16/02/2025 report

16/2/2025

We finally got to play, the first games for 2025 after the previous 3 scheduled games had to be called off because of the excessive heat.

We were joined by players from 4 other regional clubs, so 6 pistes were in action.
At the end of play, the "interlopers" took out first, second and third places - Gerry from Smythesdale, Esther from Bendigo and Col from Mt. Macedon.  Maldon players had better lift their games with the Golden Boule coming up!
It was great to see Barry Droney looking good after his major surgery. He's hoping to be back on the pistes in a few weeks.
Last year’s Player of the Year, Len Paul, is leaving us to move to Canberra.  Our loss, Canberra's gain!  Don't forget to pack your boules Len.

Our next games will be on Sunday 2 March, 1pm on the St Brigid’s pistes.

Everyone is welcome on our game days to either have a game or to just come and see what the game of petanque is all about.  If you'd like to play, we’ll provide you with the equipment and coaching. As a bonus, we’ll present you with a complimentary bottle of our house wine.

Vale Mike Forsyth

9/2/2025

We are all saddened to hear from Beverley that her husband, Mike, died peacefully on Saturday.  Mike was a great supporter of the club; he helped out at our Triples tournament, took wonderful photos of petanque action at our club games and was ever friendly and ever cheerful.  A great bloke.
Our condolences to Beverley and family.
